Miramar Event Liability
To compliment our Liability facility, we are pleased to announce Miramar Liability Division is able to offer Event Liability Insurance.
Our Event Liability Insurance solutions will protect event organisers large and small over a variety of events:

The Miramar Property/Packages team have decided to change our current servicing arrangements.
Effective from 1st April, the teams will no longer be split between renewals and new business.
All underwriters within your allocated team will be required to work on all sources of business, with an overall view to increasing our response times and service standard levels.

Miramar Underwriting’s Liability Facilities
Miramar Underwriting’s Liability Facilities are in a good position to support all your Low, Medium and High Hazard Liability placements within the SME and Corporate sectors. Our capacity is supported 100% by Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s and offers brokers the ability to place your specialised Liability cover with the Miramar Liability Team.
Whilst we write individual standalone liability policies, we are also able to package covers in conjunction with Miramar’s various property products. Our Liability Team offer’s coverage on a Primary basis up to $20,000,000 and with our new Excess Capacity of $30,000,000, we are well placed to write risks up to $50,000,000 on either a Primary or Excess of Loss basis. Higher limits can always be considered.

Miramar Suncorp Joint PI Statement
05/03/2009
Miramar Underwriting Agency Pty Limited and Suncorp Metway have mutually agreed to cease their Professional Indemnity (PI) underwriting arrangement.
This arrangement was originally entered into to provide all members of the Steadfast Group with access to Suncorp Metway security across all our product lines and granted Miramar the authority to underwrite bind and issue policies for professional indemnity insurances.
This agreement will cease with effect from 14th March 2009 for New Business and 1st April 2009 for all Renewal Business.
A twelve month moratorium on Suncorp PI renewal business held with Miramar has been agreed and your ongoing PI requirements will be met and serviced by Miramar.
Miramar and Suncorp are continuing their relationship in respect to the property and liability portfolios.
The termination of this agreement will not diminish product availability or service to the Steadfast Group in anyway.

Miramar have been operating 3 binders into Lloyd's since inception of the company in 2005. In this short period of time the three facilities of Property, Casualty and PI/D&O has grown to over $20m (AUD).
As all three facilities are well established and a premium base is established we are excited about the continued possibilities that this market can present to Australian brokers.
Property
We write a varied occupation type under this cover, with flexibility to compete in all states of Australia. Whilst the book is predominantly low to medium hazard business (or local market business) we do have the capability to compete on higher hazard risk types
Liability
Miramar operates a wide ranging facility up to $20m AUD across over 450 different occupation types. The facility operates under full binding conditions with the added ability to access key markets for that business that is a little harder to place. This facility has grown very quickly built on quality service and competitive pricing.
PI
Although our PI book is predominantly miscellaneous in nature we do have a natural slant and expertise towards Engineering or design and construct exposures. This is a well established facility that has operated sucessfully on industry proven wordings coupled with market competitive pricing.

It has been sometime since we have informed brokers of news concerning the Liability side of Miramar, news such as our risk appetite and strengths, improvements in excesses and finally a guide of who to go to in the team.The capabilities and depth of knowledge of our underwriting capacity allows us to offer competitive pricing on a broad range of businesses from SME's to Corporates, and this hasn't changed. We have however been able to reduce EXCESSES on the majority of our occupations to fall in line with our competitors.
